Govt announced only essential services,
then can remain open.

Popular bookshop selling stationery or Assessment books or past year National exam Ten-year-series, is Not considered as an essential service. Hence, cannot open.

Those who need to buy stationery or buy Assessment books from Popular, even though MOE scraped All Mid-year school-based exam, better buy before 7 April, where Popular bookshop closed until 4 May

They still got time to buy now, today, tomorrow Sunday and next Monday, before temporary closed shop from 7 April to 4 May. After 4 May, if govt announce can open shop, parents & students still can buy

Anyway, believe most P6 parents and students taking Psle this year, would have bought Assessment books many months ago liao. Even if they purchased mountain high piled up Assessment books, if they attend tuition, they may not even have time to do from so many Assessment books, because

- school based HBL give school homework,

- tuition centre also dish out tuition homework, whether is tuition online or tuition inside face-to-face classroom,

- At home, students must spend time practise Past year PSLE papers 2019 to at least past minimum 5 years, or more
to familiarise themselves with Psle exam format and the "style" of questions asked

- At home, they still need to set aside time to practise Past year Prelim SA2 or SA1 school-based papers eg those from popular, Top schools

With all the above,
where got time, to still do from Assessment books ?

Public Libraries closing

... borrow what u need b4 7 April 2020.

Dear patrons,

With the escalating COVID-19 situation and in line with the government’s announcement on 3 April 2020 to elevate safe distancing measures, the National Library Board (NLB) will be temporarily closing the National Library building, our 25 public libraries, National Archives of Singapore building and Former Ford Factory with effect from 7 April 2020 to 4 May 2020.

During this period, all on-site services will be temporarily unavailable, including bookdrops and reservation lockers.

We would like to assure you that overdue charges will not be imposed for any library materials due during this extension. Patrons will have another three (3) weeks from the date of reopening to return the materials without incurring overdue charges. For patrons who have received notifications to pick up reserved items, NLB will waive the reservation charges for items that are not picked up.

Our digital services continue to be available on the NLB Mobile app. Beyond our wide collection of eBooks and audiobooks, patrons can access the latest issues of eNewspapers and eMagazines, and eLearning resources on LyndaLibrary via the app. To promote reading and learning, we have also rolled out three learning packages on the NLB Mobile app on pandemics, COVID-19 and topics such as mindfulness, self-meditation, and new hobbies. To find out more, visit mobileapp.nlb.gov.sg.

We will continue to expand our digital collection based on patron demand.

The safety and health of our patrons is our top priority and we hope to see you again when we reopen. Please visit our website or follow us on social media @nlbsingapore for more updates. For any queries, please email us at enquiry@nlb.gov.sg.

Very disturbed with so many Dormitories becoming hotbeds of infection!! Don’t give them masks but they are very involved in many aspects of our daily lives. Every day I walk pass many foreign workers due to the ongoing construction of the North South Corridor. Endanger my life and those who stay along these major construction projects.

Who is in-charge of the Dorm? Why never tighten preventive measures?

40 Things You Should Never Touch Due to Coronavirus

Touching, like the other five senses, used to be effortless and one of life's great pleasures. Now, with the threat of coronavirus (COVID-19), your fingers have become a time bomb. The trigger: a once-innocent delivery box or elevator button, which could cary deadly viral particles.

Whatever you do, avoid this list of 40 things you should never touch and keep coronavirus at bay. Then share it with someone you've been meaning to get in touch with.

Do you still allow your helper to go out on weekend? Mine still insist she wants to go out and argued that MOM did not state it is mandatory for them to stay at home.
Is your helper fr The Philippines? Anyway, get her to read MOM Advisory to Foreign Domestic Worker:-

https://www.mom.gov.sg/newsroom/press-r ... ic-workers

If she is out, she is not to congregate but just get her errands done quick & return home & if happen to meet frds & forget abt social distancing, “MOM will take action to disperse them as an added precaution. MOM will step up inspections on the ground. Workers who do not cooperate will have their work passes revoked.” There were WP cancelled for some alr.
Thanks Esteema. She is Philippino and I find that they are really quite stubborn. In fact, I already asked her to read this advisory from MOM and she can still say that it does not mean she cannot go out right. She also told me there are only 5 to 6 people in her usual clique of friends. Her friends’ employers allow them to go out too. You can imagine how tough it is trying to reason out with them. I hope MOM officers will do a good job in dispersing these helpers. I believe there are other employers who are in the same situation as me. If I can lock her up, I will but ...... sigh!
Meet boyfriends? Looking at the number of infected cases from the Dorm clusters, I won’t be surprised if these Foreign workers may have passed the virus to their maids girlfriends whom they meet on their off days, and the maids then bring the virus home! Oversight? Maids under which minister’s care?
